The release (specifically catalogue number 7RSDDOS 1) is a magnificent seven-inch single by Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers. Much like the Charles Earland record, this was a special issue produced in conjunction with Diplomats of Soul for Record Store Day. The Latin Flare: "Berro E Sombaro" is a formidable Latin-funk instrumental. Whilst it was a favourite on the 1980s Rare Groove scene in London, it had never actually been released on a seven-inch single in its original form until this Expansion release. The Exclusive Edit: The B-side, "Never Gonna Give You Up," is a masterful Go-Go interpretation of the Gamble & Huff classic. This release features an exclusive seven-inch edit that had never been issued on this format before. A Limited Edition: These copies were part of a strictly limited, hand-numbered pressing, which makes them quite a prize for those who appreciate the Godfather of Go-Go. It is a wonderful pairing of tracks that showcases the transition from pure funk into the syncopated percussion that would define the D.C. sound.
