Evelyn “Champagne” King is back with Expansion for a new song “A Whole Lotta Yum Yum”, a Georgie B mix exclusive to next January’s CD collection “Luxury Soul 2026”. Evelyn is best known for her 80s hits for RCA “Love Come Down”, “I’m In Love”, and of course her 70s debut “Shame” when she was just 17 years old. Evelyn and Expansion first crossed paths in 1995 with the CD release of the album “I’ll Keep A Light On” and a limited edition ‘champagne’ coloured vinyl. It featured the dance hit “I Think About You” produced by Christopher Troy (Whispers, Karyn White, Alexander O’Neal, Cherrelle, Freddie Jackson) and Zack Harmon (Whispers, CeCe Winans, Karyn White, Nona Gaye). A very personal song “Starchild” also appeared on the album composed by Evelyn with her husband and guitarist Freddie Fox. Evelyn and Freddie still record and perform together. “It’s Not That Kind Of Party” from the album features bass legend Larry Graham and was produced by Preston Glass who co-wrote the new song “A Whole Lotta Of Yum Yum” with soul music royalty, drummer Narada Michael Walden. Evelyn was inducted into the Dance Music Hall Of Fame in 2004. “A Whole Lotta Yum Yum” (Georgie B Mix) is released 16th January.
