GLOBAL MUSIC FORCES UNITE TO BENEFIT SANDY & TYPHOON BOPHA VICTIMS
UK-BASED INCOGNITO & U.S. BASED KELLI SAE LAUNCH DISASTER RELIEF SONG
“BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN”

100% OF PROCEEDS BENEFIT REBUILDING TOGETHER & UNICEF UK

Today global music forces Incognito & Kelli Sae reunite, and together with Natalie Williams, Vanessa Haynes and Tony Momrelle launch disaster relief song “Brighter Than The Sun” in the U.S. to support long-term disaster restoration efforts for victims of Hurricane Sandy and Typhoon Bopha.100% of net proceeds will benefit relief efforts with Rebuilding Together and UNICEF UK.

In the vein of “We Are The World,” which sold over 20 MM copiesglobally to support African famine relief efforts, the goal of this song’s release is to mobilize the world’s support of Hurricane Sandy & Typhoon Bopha community rebuild efforts.

Featured Incognito vocalist and solo artist Kelli Sae initiated this effort and worked with long-time friend, Incognito Founder Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick, to honor the resilience of disaster victims and inspire the world to work together to rebuild these vital communities. “Living in New Jersey, and seeing the absolute devastation in our community, I knew I had to do something to make a difference,” Sae says. World-renowned band leader, writer and musician Maunick penned these lyrics in “Brighter Than The Sun” to deliver on Sae’s intent, “Ain’t no use in being down, turn it loose, let’s turn this world around. I got you, baby you got me, we’re made of stars brighter than the sun. We put our faith in what we know, and trust we will find a way.”

Maunick adds, “We have benefitted from the support of so many people from the shores of New Jersey, New York City, and the affected regions of America, and we have felt the love of the Filipino people over the years and when we played in Manila. This is the least that we could do. To quote Mother Teresa, ‘We can do no great things, only small things with great love.'”

Incognito, a band which prides itself on being a collective of international musicians, has long used its music to heal the world. In 1994, Incognito appeared on the Stolen Moments: Red Hot + Cool album which raised awareness and funds supporting the AIDS epidemic, and was heralded as “Album of the Year” by TIME magazine. In 1996, Incognito contributed “Water To Drink” to the AIDS-benefit album Red Hot + Rio.

Within one hour of Sae’s request, Maunick wrote the song in London, and recorded the music the next day with his international band including co-writer Matt Cooper (Drums), Francis Hylton (Bass), Joao Caetano (Percussion), Natalie Williams, Vanessa Haynes and Tony Momrelle (Vocals), and Mo Hausler (Engineer). Upon receipt of the track in New Jersey, Kelli added her dynamic, soulful voice, lifting the song to a powerful level.

New CDs from both bands, Incognito’s Surreal (Dome) and Kelli Sae’s Pure (Kwurk) are available via all major digital music outlets including iTunes, Amazon, emusic, among others.
